Strategic Response Manager

In celebration of Availity’s 25th anniversary, we’re highlighting associates whose impact and dedication have helped shape who we are today. Through this special Associate Spotlight series, we’re honoring the people behind our story—past, present, and future.

In this Q&A, we’re proud to spotlight Tiffany R., who shares reflections on her journey, the moments that mattered most, and what continues to inspire her as part of Availity.

When did you join Availity, what was your first role, and what stands out most from your early days?

I joined Availity as a Proposal Manager the Monday after the Change Healthcare breach, with no healthcare background other than being a patient navigating insurance like everyone else. Talk about jumping into the deep end. What stood out immediately was how Availity responded. Through Lifeline, we helped payers and providers stay connected at no cost so patients could continue receiving life-saving care during a crisis. Witnessing that in my first days here reinforced that I had chosen the right company—one that truly lives its mission when people need it most.

How has your role evolved since you started?

It’s changed in ways I never could have imagined. I joined Availity to manage RFPs, and today my role spans Growth Onboarding, Sales Enablement, and a few creative adventures along the way. The most unexpected? Writing songs for our Fast Track meetings. What started as a one-time Valentine’s Day joke about clean claims turned into a weekly tradition. Somehow, it stuck—and now people show up early to hear the newest song. It’s a fun reminder that great work and great culture can go hand in hand.

What’s one process, tool, or way of working that has changed during your time here?

The use of AI. We didn’t have it as prevalent when I started, and now, I can’t see myself doing my job without it!

Looking back on your time at Availity, what accomplishment or contribution are you most proud of?

Winning the Grit & Grind award at this year’s Sales Kickoff is something I will never forget. In all my years of working, I have never felt more loved, seen, or appreciated than I did in that moment—and yes, I cried. The award itself meant so much, but what made it truly special was feeling the support from the people I work so hard for and alongside every day.

When you think about our Core Values, which one resonates most with you, and why?

Do the right thing. For me, doing the right thing means always looking for new ways to help our teams succeed. That starts with listening to feedback, staying open to different perspectives, and being willing to adjust when there is a better path forward. I believe we are at our best when we keep learning, keep improving, and stay focused on making the work easier and more meaningful for the people around us.

What are three words you’d use to describe Availity today?

Purposeful. Innovative. Human.

What’s one way your team quietly helps simplify healthcare that most people outside Availity would never notice?

The Go-to-Market team helps simplify healthcare by connecting payer and provider pain points with what our organization delivers. Through RFPs, market insights, and go-to-market planning, we help turn complex requirements into clear solutions—work that often happens behind the scenes but ultimately makes it easier for healthcare organizations to do business and serve their patients.

What excites you most about where Availity is headed next?

I’m excited to see how AI helps us work smarter and make healthcare feel a little less complicated. There are so many ways it can take some of the manual work off people’s plates, help us find insights faster, and give teams more time to focus on the work that really matters. I love that Availity is thinking about AI in a practical way—not just because it is new and shiny, but because it can actually help our customers, our teams, and the patients.

Thank you, Tiffany, for your dedication and the impact you’ve had in shaping Availity’s story. We’re grateful for all you do as we celebrate 25 years of Availity!
