Paige R.

Paige R.

Supervisor, Client Services

In celebration of Availity’s 25th anniversary, we’re highlighting associates whose impact and dedication have helped shape who we are today. Through this special Associate Spotlight series, we’re honoring the people behind our story—past, present, and future.

In this Q&A, we’re proud to spotlight Paige R., who shares reflections on her journey, the moments that mattered most, and what continues to inspire her as part of Availity.

When did you join Availity, what was your first role, and what stands out most from your early days?

I joined in January 2019 when we were still working in office. I was brought on as a contractor for the Client Services Representative position in ACS. This was my first experience in a corporate environment, and I had no idea what to expect!

What’s kept you here the longest?

The collaborative atmosphere and supportive team. Everyone here is warm when responding and genuinely wants each other to succeed.

How has your role evolved since you started?

I’ve had the opportunity to provide direct support to our customers via inbound phone calls and online support tickets, and indirectly as a Subject Matter Expert and Supervisor. Most recently, I went from managing a team of level 1 agents to managing a team of level 2 agents with our scope of work changing drastically to better support the overall goals of the organization.

What’s one process, tool, or way of working that has changed during your time here?

The way we used to approve applications was by verifying 2 patients with active coverage on the portal!

What are three words you’d use to describe Availity today?

Adaptable, resilient, collaborative

When you think about our Core Values, which one resonates most with you, and why?

“Do the Right Thing” speaks to me the most because my motto at work and in life is to be kind to all and treat everyone I meet with respect and care.

Looking back on your time at Availity, what accomplishment or contribution are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of taking ownership of the Community Support inventory in ACS to identify and replace outdated processes, create and maintain training materials, and help create a more efficient structure for responding to customer inquiries.

What’s an unexpected skill you’ve developed during your time at Availity?

I’ve learned a lot about medical billing, claims processing, and how benefits are applied.

What excites you most about where Availity is headed next?

I love that our purpose remains “To eliminate friction so payers and providers can work better together.” Our department in particular has so much valuable knowledge to share, and recent initiatives will lead to better communication and feedback loops between teams, which I believe will directly support this part of our North Star.

What’s one way your team quietly helps simplify healthcare that most people outside Availity would never notice?

When we identify a need, we take action and follow through on bringing solutions to fruition wherever possible. We advocate for the providers and patients who will never know our names, because it is the right thing to do.

What do you appreciate most about your team right now?

My team takes full accountability for every case they touch and openly communicates with each other every day to provide feedback and helpful tips to get through the workday.

Thank you, Paige, for your dedication and the impact you’ve had in shaping Availity’s story. We’re grateful for all you do as we celebrate 25 years of Availity!
