2009 United Way of Northeast Florida
Small Business of the Year Award

Availity was named Small Business of the Year by the United Way of Northeast Florida. The award honors the small business demonstrating exemplary commitment to the United Way of Northeast Florida and its community. During the 2008-2009 campaign year, Availity increased its employee participation and giving across all categories, emphasizing its commitment to the First Coast community. Achievements included a 16.5% increase in employee participation over the previous year; a 39% increase in total contributions; a 46% increase in the United Way’s Leadership Circle, which recognizes giving levels beginning at $1,000; and $44,518 raised for the LIVE UNITED campaign.

Excellence in Blended Learning

Excellence in Blended Learning Award at the Eighth Annual Excellence in Employee Development Awards Ceremony in Jacksonville, FL

Availity was recognized as the winner of the Excellence in Blended Learning award, in the 150–400 employees category. Availity’s Learning and Documentation Services (L&DS) team was recognized for outstanding achievement in developing and implementing an effective blended learning solution. Blended learning refers to a combination of learning solutions, such as e-learning, web conference training, live instructor-led training, online performance support tools, and interactive-classroom sessions. The award ceremony recognized companies, organizations, departments, teams, and individuals whose outstanding achievements have significantly advanced workplace learning and performance.

eHealthcare Leadership Awards—Silver Winner for Best Overall Internet Site at the Twelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, Orlando, FL

Availity was recognized for the Best Overall Internet Site in the Business/Process Improvement Applications or Product Category. More than 1,100 entries were received from firms representing 17 industry classifications. The Best Overall Internet Site was based on several factors, including delivery of strong health content, interactivity, medical care support, integration with the organization’s operations, as well as strength of web design and ease of navigation.

Northeast Florida Excellence in IT Leadership Award at the ITFlorida Awards Gala in Lake Buena Vista, FL

Availity was recognized for outstanding business or initiatives for exceptional leadership in furthering the use of IT to successfully advance economic, social, or technical development in Florida. ITFlorida is a not-for-profit membership organization that represents Florida's diverse information technology communities on a statewide basis. The organization fills the need for a single statewide advocacy organization to represent Florida's IT-related technology sectors.

More than 1,100 entries were received from firms representing 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. Judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization’s classification. They also reviewed sites based on a proprietary, multi-point standard of Internet excellence.

Consumer Directed Health Care Award—Best Web Site Facilitating Patient Relationship Management, 2nd place at the Consumer Directed Health Care Conference in Chicago, IL

Availity was awarded second place for the 2005 Best Web Site Facilitating Patient Relationship Management. The Consumer Directed Health Care (CDHC) Awards are designed to recognize those companies, non-profits, organizations, foundations, government agencies, and academic entities for their excellence and advancement in programs, services, and products that enhance the consumer's ability to manage their health care expenditures and enhance health care quality. A panel of judges, which included leaders from various sectors of the health care industry, evaluated award entries based on the effectiveness and success of their programs to help improve the quality and delivery of consumer-directed health care.

ASAP Alliance Innovation Award

ASAP Alliance Innovation Award at the Global Alliance Summit in Frisco, TX

Availity was the recipient of the 2005 Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASP) Alliance Innovation Award for demonstrating excellence in alliance management during the 7th Annual Global Alliance Summit. The event was sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly and Company, Hewlett-Packard Company, Pfizer and SAP, and attended by nearly 200 participants from all over the world. The ASAP Awards Committee consists of leading academics, thought leaders, consultants, and media representatives with extensive experience and insight into strategic alliances. Award recipients are companies that are exemplary—serve as models of effective management; advance the state of the art of alliance management; achieve business success through alliance management; and share best practices and experiences.

Availity was selected from more than 1,200 entries received from firms representing 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. The judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization’s classification and reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The Best Overall Internet Site category had to pass muster on as many as 56 factors, including delivery of strong health content, interactivity, medical care support, integration with the organization's operations, as well as strength of web design and ease of navigation.

The Best Overall Internet Site category, for example, involved as many as 56 factors.

E-Fusion Award at the A.M. Best Insurance and Technology Conference in Philadelphia, PA

Availity was recognized in the category of outstanding, resourceful uses of Internet technology by an insurance organization. Availity was selected from five finalists who presented their entries at the conference. The finalists were selected at a previous judging from an initial field of 97 entries. A.M. Best Company, established in 1899, is a leading provider of ratings, news, data, and financial information for the global insurance industry. Best's Ratings are recognized worldwide as the benchmark for assessing insurers' financial strength.

TETHIE Award—Most Innovative IT Solution in the Payer Community at the Emerging Healthcare Technology and Healthcare Innovations Congress (TETHIC) Conference in Washington, DC

Availity received the second annual Emerging Technologies and Healthcare Innovations Excellence (TETHIE) Award for Most Innovative Information Technology in the Payer Community for its Availity Health Information Network solution, utilizing the Vitria (Nasdaq: VITR) business-process integration platform, Vitria:BusinessWare™. The TETHIE Awards recognize excellence in the areas of innovation and technology as it applies to the future of the healthcare industry. Availity was first selected from a field of more than 100 international applications as one of four finalists in the payer category.
